Our latest appeal

Our 2021 winter project.
This year we are focusing on a new area of outreach, working with the elderly in our local communities. We encourage you to reach out to your local care home with love and warmth in a blanket.
As a community we do an amazing job at supporting our own care homes – let us use this skill and show our local communities that we care for them too.
We are offering you the funds to “Hug-a home” by purchasing each resident a fluffy blanket, and each member of staff a gift, which we will pay for.
How it works
We suggest you identify and contact a care home of no more than 30 residents. It needs to be local to your church so that you can create a relationship. Then purchase the blankets & gifts and work together to wrap, write cards and deliver!
Click the links below for a step by step guide and a reimbursement form. You may be rewarded up to a £300 grant for this project.
Please contact us if you need any advice.

We have a long term appeal called 'Bags of Love'. This provides sleeping bags and rucksacks for the homeless, refugees and asylum seekers. If you would like to donate to this fund please visit our 'Donations' page.
If you would like to distribute some bags in a local outreach project please email us for info. We can provide a batch of 20 sleeping bags or rucksacks.

We have an ongoing knitting project called ‘knit2gether’! For all you who like knitting, we are asking that you knit gloves, hats and scarves for the UK homeless.
Thank you to all the people who have been knitting for this
project - many of your hats and scarves are now being used by the grateful homeless. Many are being used on the ‘I Am Not Lost’ campaign where they are tied to a post or railing to be found.
We are excited to launch our labels to attach to your knitting before donating. There’s also space on the back to write a personal message.
NEED PATTERNS?
Please get in touch if you need our suggested patterns posting. Why not let your neighbours know about it and set up a local ‘Knit & Natter’ group at your hall?
This is a great way to build relationships with your local community and help the homeless together.
*More collection points are being added so please contact us or check our BlogSpot for the latest in your area. We are looking for more churches to help as collection points, especially in areas were we don’t currently have any, so we would love to hear from you if you can offer your hall or church.
past appeals

For our winter appeal 2017 & 2018 we focused on rucksacks for the homeless and asylum seekers. These are really valuable items when you are on the streets to keep all your belongings together and the ones we chose were very good quality.
We set up a deal with an Amazon supplier called ‘Soarpop’ and launched the appeal under the same name ‘Bags of Love’. Thankfully you all responded generously again and as the funds came in, we were able to arrange the delivery of 20 rucksacks to each of our 41 distributing churches and groups.
They took them down to their local shelters, charities and street teams and each year many 100's were distributed in this way.
In Winter 2019 we ran a 'Cups of Love' appeal which helped to distribute Greggs vouchers to the streets. Once again, this was a huge success and we motivated our churches into action.
